by New Trinity Baroque, directed by Predrag Gosta

BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTISTS:

Hailed by the critics as “Atlanta’s most adventurous early music ensemble” (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution), New Trinity Baroque is recognized as one of the leading early music ensembles in the USA. Founded by Predrag Gosta in London in 1998 and based in Atlanta, NTB was initially established as an ensemble of international musicians, and they continue to maintain this presence through working closely with U.S. and international artists: past soloists included soprano Evelyn Tubb, recorder player Marion Verbruggen, violinists Ingrid Matthews and John Holloway, harpsichordist Steven Devine, and others. Each season, the ensemble presents concerts and educational events in Atlanta and other cities throughout the U.S., performing on period instruments of the 17th and 18th centuries. They also regularly present concert-lectures and other educational events, and enjoy touring – in May of 2008 (as well as in 2009 and 2010) they performed at Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, and had toured England, Finland, Sweden and Serbia. They plan to undertake another European tour in 2011.

New Trinity Baroque’s repertoire ranges from chamber to orchestral, from cantatas to operas, and its styles from Renaissance to Classical, and it’s concerts are consistently praised highly. Performances from the past include South-Eastern U.S. period instrument premiers of Monteverdi’s “Vespers,“ Handel’s “Gloria,“ Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio,“ Corelli’s Concerti Grossi, Vivaldi’s "L’Estro Armonico," Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater“ and “La Serva Padrona,“ Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik“ and Salzburg Symphonies, and more. NTB published seven CDs - the latest one features Vivaldi's concertos, and the upcoming recordings scheduled for release will feature J.S. Bach's Violin Concertos, Mozart's Salzburg Symphonies, madrigals by Italian composers (including works by recently discovered master Francesco Portinaro), and more.
